HP Print Service Plugin is an app that connects your mobile device to HP printers connected to the same local network. With it, you can easily print documents and pictures directly from your phone or tablet, with no need to connect physically, though this option is also here.
In fact, this app has little of its own interface. You will mostly see it when you share the document or image you want to print via the default system Share feature. When you select Share, then you should send it to PSP or just print. The app will fetch the printable document and control the printing process.
The app is named “plugin” because it doesn’t appear as a standalone app. It expands the system Share menu. It provides correct connection to printers, and that’s its only mission. Today’s HP printers are said to work well with the default Android print engine, but still installing the original print plugin makes sense. It supports a print queue, so you can print multiple documents after selecting them.
If the app works correctly, you just don’t have to run it separately. Just open your image in a gallery, or a PDF, or an Office document, and print it via Share menu. It doesn’t matter if you’re connected to the same network via your router or create an ad hoc network. The app also supports USB OTG connection, so if your printer is old and not equipped with a Wi-Fi module, you can just take an OTG adapter and connect it to the phone or the tablet.
While the app is compatible with all the Android 5.0 and above devices (that is, with absolutely most Android phones and tablets in use now), the list of printers compatible with it is just as large. It includes printers from HP OfficeJet, HP LaserJet, HP DesignJet, HP Photosmart, HP DeskJet, and HP Envy series. The iOS version of this app is called HP Smart, but it’s quite a different standalone app that even includes its own document scanner. With printers by other vendors
To download the app, you will get links to the Official Website and/or official digital markets.
